EYES OF MYVATN
Eyes of Myvatn proposed a hybrid greenhouse dining experience for the Lake Myvatn region in partnership with the Vogafjos Resort. The project hinges on a de-constructed integration with the various growing, sorting and storage functions of a productive greenhouse. Returning from a hike across the landscape, diners would pass by growing spaces and witness wheelbarrows of produce being delivered to the kitchen, prior to sitting down amongst fruit sorting tables and meat curing rooms.
Eyes of Myvatn is conceived as a collection of structures formed around a protective courtyard, positioned on the most level part of the site and commanding long interrupted views to and from the restaurant have been carefully controlled. The buildings have a curious yet familiar presence in the landscape – mythical yet welcoming – almost like a farmstead emerging from the mist.
