Conran and Partners embarked on the next chapter of an extraordinary journey with Rüya Riyadh, bringing to life the bold Anatolian dining concept once more in a new context.
Rüya started life as the dream (the Turkish translation becoming its name) of its creator Umut Ozkança, who collaborated with our team on the DNA of the brand. Its story continues on from restaurants in Dubai and London leading us to Cannes and now Riyadh.
Inspired by the profound heritage of Anatolian cuisine and Turkish hospitality, our team crafted an immersive experience that marries tradition with contemporary allure, captivating a diverse, international audience.
This new restaurant is the first freestanding site and benefits from a space with soaring ceiling levels and full-height windows, seamlessly blending the warmth of the Rüya design DNA with its modern setting.
The creative journey for Rüya Riyadh encompasses the essence of Turkey’s renowned hospitality, coupled with the distinct design and architecture of the space, to craft a contemporary and vibrant 127-cover restaurant, lounge, and bar experience. Rooted in the spirit of food and celebration, Rüya Riyadh is a space that fosters togetherness, welcoming patrons with generous indoor and outdoor areas.
As guests arrive, they are greeted by the double-height pide oven, symbolizing that food truly lies at the heart and soul of our concept. The open kitchen is next to the oven, where wood-fired ovens and grilles create drama and showcase the delicious food being prepared for the guests.
Throughout the space, multi-layered contemporary chandeliers reminiscent of Byzantine architecture emanate an ethereal glow, while bespoke 3D patterned Turkish tiles create a strong and vibrant dado around the space. To give privacy to the dining rooms, the full-height windows have intricately patterned screens laser cut in brass metal, in harmony with the amalgamation of marble, brass, crystal, and timber, seamlessly combining tradition and modernity.
At the end of the space, creating the focal point is a bar counter with a dramatic mirror 3D installation that refracts the glowing ambience in front of it.
Recreating the fantastic selection of Rüya’s classic cocktails in non-alcoholic versions, the bar forms the heart of the space with a big sharing table right in front of it.
With every detail meticulously crafted, the dramatic interiors take centre stage, creating a number of different zones and ambiences to suit every mood and occasion. A variety of seating areas invite you to immerse yourself in the captivating ambience, creating a setting that truly redefines dining elegance.
