Our process is holistic. We place the end user at the centre of our design and we consider how design contributes to wellbeing, sustainability and the way people live and work. By recognising both the visible and subtle influences on interior environments, we create spaces that are not only beautiful, but also timeless.
OUR HISTORY
The practice began life in London in the 1980s as a multidisciplinary firm founded by Sir Terence Conran and Fred Roche. As well as restaurants, early work included highly ambitious and innovative projects such as the master planning and phased design of Butler’s Wharf, the original Design Museum building, as well as a number of other early commissions related to Terence’s game-changing interventions in the British retail and restaurant industries, through the Habitat stores, The Conran Shop and numerous Conran restaurants.
The practice has subsequently built up more than three decades of international experience in a wide variety of environments, from luxury hospitality with clients including Hyatt, The Peninsula Hotels and Taj, to high-end residential and bespoke workplaces and retail for leading international developers including Almacantar, British Land, Related Argent, Swire Properties and Mori amongst others.
In 2022, the ownership of the practice has been passed on to five Principals; Tina Norden, Simon Kincaid, Tim Bowder-Ridger, Sebastian Conran and Katy Clarke, all of whom have had key roles in the practice for many years and have been instrumental in the growth and development of the business.
