Greenmead Place

Plans have been submitted for the transformation of the current Tesco site in Harrow into a vibrant new residential quarter, delivering 480 homes and a modernised superstore.

Designed by Conran and Partners, the two-phase masterplan delivers a mix of affordable and private homes, generous green space, and a new three-storey Tesco. Phase one includes a new home for the Tesco superstore along with 213 homes, while phase two adds 267 private homes across eight buildings on the current Tesco car park.

The scheme converts 40% of the site into green space and new streets and public realm connecting to the wider neighbourhood, with residential entrances and amenities creating a lively, connected community.

The project transforms an underused urban area into a vibrant neighbourhood with:

  • 504 new homes, 35% of which will be affordable.

  • 242 commercial parking spaces

  • 142 residential parking spaces

  • 890 long-stay and 15 short-stay cycle spaces

  • Dedicated play areas for all age groups

  • Landscaped communal grounds and a central public square

  • Improved pedestrian and cycle routes for better connectivity

The masterplan champions inclusive design, improved access, and quality public spaces—bringing long-term benefits to Harrow & Wealdstone.
