Sebastian is a highly respected Designer, whose extensive experience in product and brand development demonstrates a thoughtful and considered approach to intelligent, useful and aspirational design.
As Chair of Conran and Partners, he brings an alternative perspective to all that we do, challenging the Partners to question the preconceptions endemic in our industry and professions. All with a view to reinforcing our central ethos of ensuring that the end-users of our designs remain foremost in our minds.
With a special interest in emerging technologies and design for later life, Sebastian has held numerous roles across the creative industries, government and academia. He is also a board member of many innovative companies.
Sebastian is especially influential across the wider design and engineering industries, judging many international design award schemes and actively contributing to design education through fellowships and visiting professorships at a number of leading universities. Among many other activities, he champions the design industry as an ambassador of ACID (Anti Copying In Design), is a Founding Trustee of the Design Museum, and the Chair of The Conran Foundation.
Sebastian chairs the company boards and, as a Principal, jointly leads the practice and its overall strategic direction through its London and Hong Kong studios.
