Anja Schellenbauer

Associate Director | Head of Sustainability

As an architect and designer, Anja has focused her work on creating places where people love to live and work and breathing new life into underperforming buildings.

Anja’s experience spans many scales and sectors from master-planning, residential, commercial, mixed-use, transport and ecclesiastical projects both in new build, existing and conservation settings.

Amongst other projects, Anja has focussed her efforts and forensic technical skills on the reinvention of Centre Point Tower, enjoying the complexity and unusual technical challenges imposed by the existing innovative structure that has afforded Centre Point its Grade II listing. More recently, Anja´s designs include our own new studio in Clerkenwell with a new approach to work place design.

She has extensive experience leading large teams in the delivery of technically complex, large-scale and high-rise project. She has built lasting relationships with external project teams to bring projects to a successful conclusion – in the case of Centre Point resulting in a BREEAM award winning scheme for its outstanding technical performance.

She uses this experience and knowledge to fulfil further practice-wide duties as risk management representative, as well as being heavily involved in the practice’s contracts and project management strategies.

As Head of Sustainability and Certified Passivhaus Designer, Anja spearheads C&P´s joint effort approach to sustainable design. She leads our knowledge-sharing and internal research initiatives, including the Material Research Lab, and brings a highly considered and holistic sustainability approach to any project.

She is a member of the Sustainable Design Collective and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience more widely at external events and panel discussions.
