World Mental Health Awareness Week

Throughout last week Conran and Partners’ took time out for multiple activities to understand the importance and work of ‘World Mental Heath Week’. In response to this year’s ‘loneliness’ theme, our studio curated a special in-house programme designed to spark debate, promote social interaction and champion the minds who bring this critical subject to the forefront.

From lunchtime crafting to team breakfasts and inspiring seminars, the team took several intervals from their desks and were encouraged to interact and find creative ways of forging new connections within their usual routines.

Closing the week on a high with the spectacular weather, the London-based studio toured through Canada Water to visit one of our recently completed projects – The Dock Office. Fittingly, the project’s new voluminous internal space was designed to encourage social gatherings, ‘chance’ meetings and a greater feeling of connectedness amongst staff and guests. The afternoon tour ended at the PNK’s community garden, where the team explored the calming benefits of gardening.

As the conversation surrounding Mental Health grows, the stigma reduces. Mental Health Awareness Week 2022 has now ended, but we must now ensure we keep talking and looking after ourselves and others around us. As a practice, we take this seriously and will continue to take steps to reiterate all the ways we can focus on improving mental well-being and supporting each other.
