Tina Norden
 
Partner
 
Tina is an Interior Designer and Architect with a diverse portfolio stretching across many contexts and continents, from hotel and restaurant design to high-end residential and boutique retail projects. She is passionate about travel and loves designing spaces that enhance he enjoyment of life.

Tina leads design teams in both the UK and Hong Kong and was instrumental in building the team in Asia.
She is very hands on as she directs projects across the globe and thrives on the cultural exchange and collaboration this entails.

With every project, Tina develops the client brief by delving into the specific context and history to create a bespoke narrative and design language that tells a unique story.

She believes in style over fashion in design to ensure the result is timeless and remains fresh. With her main focus on hospitality, many of the lessons learnt from her extensive experience are applied to her other projects to create an equally experiential solution.

Tina joined the practice in 1997 and joined the board of Conran and Partners in 2016.
Tim Bowder-Ridger

As an Architect and Designer,Tim is passionate about creating authentic experiences centred around cultural spirit and personality.

He brings his knowledge across different sectors, including hospitality, residential and workplace, to design buildings and spaces that reflect holistic contemporary lifestyle-needs and desires. Tim firmly believes that successfully designed buildings and spaces should be fundamentally at ease with themselves in a way that is tangible to their to users and always have a sense of place and aspiration.

Tim puts these principles into practice through directly leading on a number of projects, large and small, at home and abroad. He has a particular interest in the reuse of existing buildings both from cultural and environmental sustainability perspectives, but has also been very influenced by his work in Japan, where the elegance of simple ideas is so valued.

Tim joined Conran and Partner 1997 and the board in 2008. As Principal, Tim leads the practice and its overall strategic direction through its UK and Hong Kong studios.
Victoria Whenray
 
Partner
 
With a layered approach to design, Victoria takes a leading role in the architectural design direction of the practice across its London and Hong Kong studios.

Victoria brings a wealth of experience leading on a number of creative mixed-use regeneration and master-planning projects. She joined the board of Conran and Partners in 2016.

Victoria’s current focus is to deliver multi-dimensional mixed-use regeneration projects. Her strength lies in her ability to bring together the various - and sometimes challenging - client, statutory, consultation and design team needs, being the central voice connecting these sometimes-opposing views.

She is passionate about creating buildings and places that make a positive contribution to the city and landscape, always with the aim to make a difference to the quality of people’s lives, blurring the lines between residential and hospitality.

A regular contributor to architectural discourse, Victoria frequently contributes to publications and events and panel discussions. She also serves as an academician at the Academy of Urbanism, a group of like-minded thinkers with a love of the urban environment.
Simon Kincaid
 
Partner
 
Simon is an Interior Designer with over 20 years’ industry experience ,across residential, hospitality and retail sectors. He brings a great understanding of consumer lifestyle trends to the communal and public areas of all project typologies, often to engage with the wider neighbourhood, as well as creating well detailed desirable homes, hotels and experiential retail experiences. Always with a strong design narrative that generate sense of place and identity.

Simon applies intelligent design principles and an eye for detail throughout all stages of design and construction to deliver high-value and desirable finished products.

As with the other Partners, Simon is passionate about building trusted, creative and longstanding collaborative relationships with clients, consultants and suppliers, to deliver forward looking, aspirational finished products with desirable identities.

Simon joined Conran and Partner 2006 and the board in 2016.
Katy Clarke
 
Partner, Practice Director
 
When Katy originally joined Conran and Partners in 2002 she worked alongside Sebastian Conran running the branding and product design studio. As part of her role, she oversaw client services and built strong relationships with the likes of American Express, De Beers, Diageo, LG, Maybourne Hotel Group, Marks & Spencer, Nissan, Panasonic and Selfridges.

In 2017, Katy moved across and became Practice Director for the architecture and interior design side of the business and now leads on managing the practice ensuring that it operates to high professional standards as both consultants and employers.

Katy’s main focus is on client services and as part of this she leads on appointments and contractual matters with clients, as well as developing the practice’s approach to risk management, all with the aim of ensuring clients get the best possible service. Katy also leads on human resources making sure the practice is an inclusive and fair place to work and provides the team with the support they need to thrive.

Having graduated from Bath University with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and having worked in the creative sector for over 20 years, Katy is a balanced left and right brain thinker who understands the importance of the creative process and contributes to the practice strategically. She is passionate about collaboration and innovative thinking and places high value on this and champions it within the practice.
Hardip Nijjar
 
Partner, Finance Director
 
Hardip leads the finance team and is responsible for all aspects of the practice finances including financial governance, strategic planning and budgeting to monitoring its delivery, statutory reporting, tax and treasury management. He provides an innovative outlook on financial analytics in supporting both business and project decisions. Hardip also oversees all financial aspects of the Hong Kong studio.

Hardip is a qualified Chartered Accountant with diverse experience across various industry sectors both nationally and internationally from SMEs to PLCs. Hardip spent several years with Conran Holdings and oversaw a number of transactional activities.

Hardip joined Conran and Partners in 2017 and appointed to the Board in 2018.
Sebastian Conran

Sebastian is a highly respected Designer, whose extensive experience in product and branding development demonstrates a thoughtfulness and care for intelligent, useful and aspirational design.

As Chair of Conran and Partners, he is able provide an alternative perspective on all that we do – challenging the Partners to question the preconceptions endemic in our industry and professions. All with a view of reinforcing our central ethos of ensuring that the end-users of our designs are always in the foremost of our minds.

With a special interest in emerging technologies and design for later life, Sebastian has held numerous roles across the creative industries, government and academia, he is also a board member of many innovative companies.

Sebastian is especially influential across the wider the design and engineering industries, judging many international design award schemes and actively contributing to design education through fellowships and visiting professorships at a number of leading universities. Amongst many other activities, he also champions the design industry as an ambassador of ACID (Anti Copying In Design), is a Founding Trustee of Design Museum’s and the new Chair of The Conran Foundation.
Roderick Tong
 
Head of Hong Kong Studio
 
Rod studied Architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture. Since graduating, his focus has been on the residential and hospitality sectors, as well as high rise projects working extensively with high profile clients in HK and mainland China

Before joining Conran and Partners, Rod led another UK studio in HK, Make Architects, where he was responsible for the design of a 25-storey residential development in Ho Man Tin, the first residential project to receive BEAM Plus Platinum. Drawing on the hospitality sector for inspiration, Rod also designed The Leadership Training Centre in Lantau Island, which is one of the most sustainable buildings in Hong Kong, and a high-end residential tower at Lun Fat Street in Wan Chai.

Rod joined Conran and Partners to lead its Hong Kong studio and is responsible for acquiring new business, growing brand awareness and, with the Partners, oversees the creative design direction in architecture in East Asia.

Rod’s design philosophy is focussed on building sustainable communities, embedded with creative public spaces to enhance wellbeing and experience reflected through his recent appointment as part of the Building Committee for Mother’s Choice, a charity supporting young mothers and vulnerable children in Hong Kong.

Outside of work, Rod is a visiting critic at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and is enthusiastic about exploring Hong Kong’s great outdoor spaces with his young family.
Anja Schellenbauer

As an architect and designer, Anja has focused her work on creating places where people love to live and work, mending the fabric of existing neighbourhoods and re-purposing underperforming buildings.
Her experience spans many scales and sectors from masterplanning, commercial, residential, retail, mixed-use, transport and ecclesiastical projects both in new build, existing and conservation settings.

She has extensive experience in the delivery of technically complex, large-scale and high-rise projects leading larger teams through the coordination and site review processes and has built lasting relationships with external project teams to bring projects to a successful conclusion.

Anja brings a highly considered and innovative approach to a project with her forensic technical skills, problem solving and collaborative style. She uses this experience and knowledge to fulfil practice-wide duties as risk management representative, as well as being very involved in the practice’s sustainability, contracts and project management strategies.
Chris Thornley
 
Associate
 
Chris has a diverse and international portfolio, working across the London and Hong Kong studios. With tangible cross sector experience, he is passionate about developing bespoke solutions which are context rather than trend driven.

With a portfolio that leads towards high-end hospitality, both new projects and refurbishments, Chris has experience working with hotel groups to development to ensure our designs work hand in hand with their brand ambitions. He has used this experience to inform our approach to the high-end residential and prestigious developments across London.
James Flett
 
Associate
 
James is an Interior Designer who joined Conran and Partners in 2018 as an Associate. He leads teams of designers from the initial layout and concept design through to on-site fit outs and project delivery.

On his projects James retains a hands-on creative and technical oversight throughout the process, but also drives a spirit of collaboration between the practice and the wider project team to ensure holistic design solutions.

James has over 14 years’ experience working across a broad range of interior design projects in residential, hospitality and workplace design, for both UK and International clients. Since joining Conran and Partners, James has continued to work on a breadth of project types, from smaller scale intimate hospitality projects to large and complex residential schemes, but always applying the same attention to detail and ambition for excellence.
Jan Janecek

Jan is an interior designer with an MA in Architecture and Interior Design.

Jan offers a thorough understanding of the luxury marketplace, adding style and flare to any high-end residential and retail projects with a rigorous attention to detail.

Since joining Conran and Partners, Jan has been involved in a number of large and complex award-winning residential projects in both new buildings and refurbishments of listed buildings in London. He also has experience designing high-impact, lifestyle-led retail experiences and is currently working on numerous large-scale retail projects in South Korea.

Jan is a passionate designer dedicated to ensuring the creative process delivers at all stages of the process.
Marcus Pethica

Marcus is an experienced architect with a particular focus on the ‘big idea’, positioning a project to deliver socially, economically and environmentally.

His experience covers all scales, and all stages of project development - with an approach which draws on several years working alongside industry-leading clients and consultants on complex, challenging projects. Since joining Conran and Partners in 2016, Marcus has worked across both our London and HK studios, bringing an open minded approach to all aspects of projects and encourages a collaborative approach to all he does.

Marcus has been the associate lead on several project teams within the studio, ranging from masterplans, new-build, refurbishment and interiors projects, with both private developers and Local Authority clients.

Marcus believes strongly in the core ethos of the practice that good design has the ability to improve peoples’ lives.
Nick Edler
 
Associate
 
Nick is an architect with a passion for the craft of designing spaces and buildings, from masterplans to the refurbishment of listed buildings.

In all of his projects he applies a sensibility towards how conceptual ideas manifest through the materials, form and details. Thinking very much from the macro to the micro, through numerous media from the 2B pencil and sketch pad, to working card models, to CAD, BIM and CGI’s, all with a view to creatively consider problems and solutions from a number of angles.

Nick joined Conran and Partners in 1998 and became an Associate in 2007. He has since worked on a number of award-winning projects, including both the interiors and exteriors of buildings, but always thinks beyond the ‘red-lines’ of a development to create spaces, places and buildings that enhance the lives of the people who use them and connect to the wider context.
Elizabeth Pfahl

Working across both the UK and Hong Kong studios, Liz supports the partners, and the Practice Director in particular, in developing and managing the Conran and Partners’ operational policies and practices. All with a view to maintain the highest
professional standards that enables Conran and Partners to be a modern, diverse and creative business.

Since joining Conran and Partners in 2005 Liz has worked on a range of key studio support roles.
Andrew James
 
Marketing Manager
 
Andrew joined Conran and Partners in 2021 as the practices’ Marketing Manager. He leads his department with a focus on celebrating the people behind the projects.

Andrew studied at Middlesex University where he gained a BA Hons in Interior Architecture and Design. Since graduating, he has worked in a variety of marketing roles from creative start-ups to international brands including Disney and Foster + Partners.
Duncan McKenzie
 
Group Head of IT
 
Duncan joined the Conran Group in 2016, responsible for the IT strategy and infrastructure for The Conran Shop, Conran Contracts and Conran and Partners. In 2021 Duncan transferred full time to Conran and Partners.

Duncan is a technically minded Head of IT with over 20 years’ experience in IT, leading global teams in the professional services industry. In the last 15 years Duncan has worked within four of the UKs top AJ100 practices.
