Victoria Whenray

Partner

With a layered approach to architecture, Victoria has a wealth of experience leading on a number of creative mixed-use regeneration and master-planning projects. She is passionate about creating homes and environments that make a positive contribution to a city and a difference to the quality of people’s lives.

Victoria’s current focus is to deliver multi-dimensional mixed-use regeneration projects. Her strength lies in her ability to bring together the various - and sometimes challenging - client, statutory, consultation and design team needs, being the central voice connecting these sometimes opposing views.

Since joining Conran and Partners, Victoria has led on many significant projects including; the regeneration of the former Walthamstow Stadium – a mixed-use and mixed-tenure residential led scheme which included the retention of Grade 2 listed buildings; Portobello Square Phases 2 and 3 – over 700 new homes and creating an extension to the world renowned Portobello Road; Woolwich Keep – the transformation of Woolwich High Street with new residential towers and town square; Maidenhead town centre – a residential-led new cultural quarter which reinstates a once unloved canal into the local streetscape and Lower Marsh – a vibrant mixed-use office-led scheme in Lambeth.

She also serves as an academician at the Academy of Urbanism, a group of like-minded thinkers with a love of the urban environment.
Simon Kincaid

Partner

Simon has over 15 years’ industry experience, eleven of which have been at Conran and Partners.

He brings value to projects by optimising layouts and creating strong design narratives. As a residential, hotel, restaurant and retail designer, he brings a great understanding of consumer lifestyle trends to the communal and public areas of residential projects, often to engage with the wider neighbourhood, as well as creating well detailed desirable homes with a sense of place and individual identity.

Simon is currently delivering several high-end residential schemes for Argent and British Land.

His hospitality experience includes work on hotels, restaurants and private members’ clubs in the UK, Europe and across Asia. In addition, his comprehensive understanding of the fusion-retail market enhances his offer of creating unique guest-led experiences. Simon has recently delivered a new retail concept for the Conran Shop in Seoul, and a new work space concept for Great Portland Estates which interweaves office reception, private members club, café culture and hotel experience within one space.

Simon has a keen eye for detail and process combined with much onsite experience and technical knowledge. He applies intelligent design principles throughout all stages of design and construction to deliver high-value finished products with desirable identities.
Roderick Tong

Head of Studio | Hong Kong

Rod studied Architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture. Since graduating, his focus has been on the residential and hospitality sectors, as well as high rise projects working extensively with high profile clients in HK and mainland China including Swire Properties, New World and Vanke.

Before joining Conran and Partners, Rod led another UK studio in HK, Make Architects, where he was responsible for the design of a 25-storey residential development in Ho Man Tin, the first residential project to receive BEAM Plus Platinum. Drawing on the hospitality sector for inspiration, Rod also designed The Leadership Training Centre in Lantau Island, which is one of the most sustainable buildings in Hong Kong, and a high-end residential tower at Lun Fat Street in Wan Chai.

Rod joined Conran and Partners to lead its Hong Kong studio and is responsible for acquiring new business, growing brand awareness and overseeing the creative design direction in architecture of the Asia branch.

Since joining the practice, Rod has led several architectural competitions in the Asia Pacific Region, with a particular interest in public cultural projects such as Seoul Photography Museum and War Memorial Park which blurs the line between landscape and the built environment.

Rod’s design philosophy is focussed on building sustainable communities, embedded with creative public spaces to enhance wellbeing and experience.

Outside of work, Rod is a visiting critic at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and is enthusiastic about exploring Hong Kong’s great outdoor spaces with his young family.
Tim Bowder-Ridger

Principal

As an architect and designer, Tim is passionate about creating authentic experiences centred around cultural spirit and personality. He brings his knowledge across different sectors to design buildings and spaces that reflect holistic contemporary lifestyle-needs and desires, with a sense of place and aspiration. Tim firmly believes that successfully designed buildings and spaces should be fundamentally at ease with themselves in a way that is tangible and accessible to users.

Tim puts these principles into practice through directly leading on a number of strategic projects, large and small, at home and abroad. Recent work includes the conversion of the mid-century icon Centre Point Tower in London into a charismatic residential destination; and Kita Aoyama, a new high-end residential development which reintegrates landscape into an urban neighbourhood in the heart of Tokyo.
