Wit and charm balances the old with the new
This project unlocks the potential of a historic muse house in Chelsea, to create a modern luxury dwelling for a private client.

The Pavilion Road site sits in-between Knightsbridge and Sloane Square, and is just a short walk from London’s Hyde Park. We reconfigured the existing plans to maximise floor to ceiling heights, open up the living spaces, and optimise natural light into the home.

The design carefully juxtaposes the clean lines of contemporary interventions, which include a new statement staircase and minimalistic fireplace, with the distinctive existing features.

A dramatic roof light has been added to further brighten the space, with the texture and character of exposed original features. A simple restrained palette of neutral new materials complements the old, while bursts of colour are used to inject a sense of playfulness.
