FF&E Designer

Conran and Partners is looking for a talented and enthusiastic FF&E Designer to join our London studio in the heart of Clerkenwell.

Experience in Furniture or FF&E design roles

DETAIL / CORE TASKS

Understand the brief and creative vision
Confidently work in 2D and 3D and delivers drawings
Experience in prototyping products and pieces
Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in material applications
With guidance from the senior team, prepare analysis/planning, briefing and stimulus material
Strong contribution and initiative in creative critiques and presenting coherent creative ideas to deliver against design/brand strategy
Depending on experience, may run a smaller project reporting to the project director or associate
Under the direction of the senior team, take responsibility for preparing creative presentations internally and externally
Where appropriate, attend client and consultant meetings
With support from the senior team, liaise with other consultants and suppliers
Where appropriate, contribute to client communications
Work within the bounds of what is expected in a RIBA chartered practice
Be an ambassador for good design and challenging ideas
Ability to present and defend Conran and Partners’ work and challenge conventional thinking

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

With the direction of the senior team, contribute to the creative element of a presentation/proposal
Represent Conran and Partners/Directors by attending relevant industry events and exhibitions

FF&E FOCUS

Experience in preparing schedules and specifications
Good understanding of suppliers and manufacturers suitable to Conran & Partners
Build and develop relationships with existing suppliers and manufacturers
Experience in procurement of bespoke samples
Understanding of budgets and price point comparisons
Research new suppliers to add to the C&P database, understanding their sustainable credentials
Assist in on-site coordination with procurement agents and installation teams
Ensure that FF&E / Sample area is managed and maintained in conjunction with the Librarian
Bespoke furniture and Lighting experience
Understand materials that are fit for purpose, inclusive of Fire Ratings and Commercial Standards, alongside the suitable application to bespoke pieces.
Experience in styling and curated accessories, final details

Detailed knowledge and understanding of the relevant software; AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Word/Excel. Revit would be a welcome addition.

EXPERIENCE

Designers at this level would be expected to have a minimum of 4years experience in FF&E, Furniture, or Interior Design. With a good understanding of current trends, suppliers, and having worked in at least two key interior sectors (residential, hospitality, lifestyle).
A degree in Interior Design, Furniture, Product Design, Industrial Design, or Textiles.
